All work has been marked and handed back. Today was a quiet review period. As well, you were given your term marks (worth 70% of final mark) and yesterday you were given your concept map marks (worth 10% of final mark). Your exam is worth 20%. Keep studying a little each night.

Today we began to review. Tomorrow you will have time to work through the review questions. You had a handout. If you misplaced yours, there is a copy on this website - check out the 'Exam/Culminating' page.
Today you had your Space Unit Test. When you finished, you began writing a PRACTICE multiple choice test. This will show you what it's like to write your exam in which there is a considerable number of multiple choice questions. Homework: Look over your science notes at least once this weekend. Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday are review days in class.
Today you had the period to finish the Martian Project and hand it in. Any extra time was used to prepare for tomorrow's Space test! Your culminating project is also due tomorrow. Please bring in a rubric (extras available to download on Exam/Culminating page)
Today we talked a wee bit more about Chris Hadfield in space. Rest of the period was used to start our "Martian Project". You will have today and all of tomorrow's period to work on it. It is due at the end of class Thursday. Remember: space Unit Test is Friday.
As a class, we read/scanned chapter 10.1 and created a point form "Cornell Note". If you were absent, please collect from a classmate. I may have time to upload to s pace webpage, but I may not. We also watched some Chris Hadfield videos and took some personal notes on whether on not you would want to be an astronaut on the ISS (International Space Station). Homework - No new homework - just review notes for Space Test (Friday) and work on Concept Maps (which are also due Friday).
Notes today on Satellites and Exploring Space. There is a Satellite template note on the website and a note on orbits. Homework: Work on culminating project or study for Space Unit Test (Friday).
Today you had the period to work on your culminating project. Remember it is due Friday Jan. 16th - NO LATE PROJECTS will be accepted.
Today we finished our Star Wheel Assignment. You handed it in. With the remaining time you were to read p. 387 and define and sketch the 5 types of galaxies. Also: which is the most common galaxy? Which kind of galaxy are we in? (Milky Way...what kind is it?)> homework: finish galaxy work if you did not already.
We did a note today on the geocentric and heliocentric models of the universe. We also looked at why it seems the sun rises and sets (and so do the stars too!). Absent: Download the note: "motions of celestial motions in the sky". We made a Star Wheel. Homework: finish making your star wheel if you didn't in class.
