Last night' homework was taken up (all homework answers are posted on web - 1st fild). We also watched 2 Crash Course Ecology videos: Crash Course Ecology: Human Impacts on Ecosystems and Crash Course Ecology: How Humans can Help. The 1st one (human impacts) is the most important. The 2nd one gets a bit too technical but at least tells us that there are things we can do to help. These are available to view on the Biology webpage. They are about 10 minutes long each. The balance of the class (30+ minutes) was set aside to work on an assignment. This will be done in class so that it frees you up to work on the culminating assignment at home. I collected the work and will return to you on Monday. All of Monday is set aside to work on it. I have not set a due date yet. If you were absent, it would be best to watch the 2 videos. You will start your assignment on Monday. Homework: Work on your culminating project.

There is a downloadable note if you missed today. We then read about Whales, Darts & DNA on page 63. We completed a handout. If you were absent, please grab from binder and fill it in using a classmate's notes. Homework: No textbook work but you should continue to work on your culminating project.
I was away today. You had a lesson on Energy Flow in Ecosystems and Food Webs/Pyramids. There was some notes to take down and some hand outs. Extra hand outs will be available in class in the binder or you can print off notes from website: "Energy Flow", "Food Chains & Webs" and "Energy Pyramids". Today a work period for working on your culminating project. You also received the rubric today. Absent? Extras in the binder @ back of room. You also received your Electricity Unit Mark. Absent? Ask for it when you return. Homework: Work away on your culminating project. Don't leave it to the very end!
Today you got back your Electricity unit test (if absent, it is in basket at back of class). I plan to have your Electricity unit mark to you by the end of the week. We then looked at your culminating project. You will be creating a concept map for the 1st three units we studied (no need to do the last one as it will be very fresh in your mind). It is essentially structured studying for the exam. This concept map is due Friday June 12th. This is a FIRM deadline and none will be accepted after that. That is over 3 weeks (and 3 weekends away) from now. It is also the date of your final unit test (Ecosystems). You may wish to get the concept map handed in a few days early. I commit to giving you back your concept maps Monday June 15th so you can use them to study for exams. Homework: You will see that very little textbook work is assigned for homework after tomorrow's lesson. THis is meant to free up your time to complete assignments and plug away on your concept maps. You should be doing some science homework every night from now on. If you do a little each night, it will not build up.
We finished the Sharkwater documentary and finished taking a class note. If you were absent or writing the Electricity test, please copy the note from a classmate.
