Today (Tuesday) and tomorrow (Wednesday) will be the grade 10 literacy prep periods.
Period 1 - Watched the last video - Global Warming Swindle. Received more text support. Homework: Who/what caused global warming. Choose your side and be familar with the best arguments! Period 2 - Due to an assembly, we are one period behind. Today we will take up global warming text work and hopefully start the Swindle Video. We will catch up Thursday when period 1 loses class (Holy Thursday paraliturgy). N
We are beginning our video research on global warming. We viewed 'Too Hot Not to Handle' for evidence of global warming. Students took notes. Those that were absent today will need to make arrangements to view @ lunchtime. An upcoming assignment is based on this video and others to come. Homework: Make sure you've done your text reading on Global Warming - 8.6
We took up yesterday's homework and discussed how atmosphere, lithosphere and hydrosphere affect climate (8.5). Class created note on Global warming (8.6) Homework: p 342 #1,3,4,5,6
Diagrams and seatwork related to text reading. If you were absent, please get from a classmate. Unit tests were given back and students had a short conference with teacher re: progress. Homework questions: p 329 # 1,2,3,5,6 GET YOUR UNIT TEST SIGNED
We finished this week by viewing the SEEDS video on climate change. We took some notes on what we learned. Keep these! We will use for writing an opinion paper later in the unit. ENJOY THE MARCH BREAK!
Chemistry is now officially done!...until exam time. No homework tonight. We will see a short movie re: Climate change tomorrow. It's a free civvies day. :)

We did a short acid/base indicator lab to show you how indicators change colour. Classwork/homework: we started a reading assignment on Acid Precipitation. 20+ min were given to start in class. Please finish @ home if required. This is a good 'application' topic. The questions have been uploaded to the chemistry page.
