Today you were given your Organ REsearch Assignment. YOu had 1/2 period to work on it. You will also have Friday to work on it (Chrome books available but you can bring your own device). The project is due Monday Nov. 7th - present to class. Remember to keep your slides full of pictures and very few words. You need to tell us what you learned in your own words. You will also need to cite your sources in a Reference page.

LESSON 11 - We took a short note on the hierarchy of the organism and the 4 animal tissues. Downloadable notes: 'Organization of Life', 'Stem cells' and 'Tissues'. We also watched 2 short videos on tissues. I have uploaded them to the biology page. Homework: Read 3.1 and 3.2. Complete # 4,5,6 on page 76 and # 1-7 on page 79. Today you looked at mitosis in onion root tips. You drew what you saw - this was an assignment. If you were away, you will need to make arrangements with me to do this assignment. Homework: Complete questions a,b,c, f,g,h,i,j at the end of 2.6 (Observing Cell Division). If you do not do the questions on cancer from yesterday, do these too. (# 1- 10 @ end of 2.7) REMEMBER --> You have a quiz on cells tomorrow. That's everything we have done up to and including today. Do your homework and check your answers. Review your notes and you should be ready.

Lesson #3: Today we made onion and cheek skin slides. You practiced drawing a proper microscope drawing. Homework: Complete # a,b,c,d,e,f,h, i on page #35.
Today we logged onto www.explorelearning.com and used the Gizmo 'Cell STructure'. Homework: Complete the Gizmo handout AND the 5 questions found below the Gizmo.
LESSON #2 - Today a lesson on how to use microscopes. There was 2 handouts - extra copies are in the binder at the back of the room. Homework: Read page 605 if you were not in class today: parts of microscope and how to use. If you were in class, complete the 2 handouts if you did not finish in class.
LESSON #1 - We started Biology today! Homework: Complete the googleform --> click here. Have this done for Monday please. Also read 1.2 and complete # 1-8 at end of chapter. Also finish labelling the cell diagrams I gave you and know the job of each organelle. A lot of this should be review from grade 8.
