Homework: Continue to work on your research notes if they are not complete. Research notes and reference list is due tomorrow - hard copy or electronic file in your folder by beginning of period #4 tomorrow.
Today you had time to work on your physics project. You will also have tomorrow. Your research notes are due Friday March 31st as well as your 'references'. Homework: continue to work on your research.
You did a quiz today and we discussed your physics project. Many of you picked your topic. Tomorrow and Thursday are work periods.
LESSON #6 - Today we looked at what light does in a curved mirror. We did activities with ray boxes. If you were away, please read 11.2 and you may want to see me @ lunch for some extra help. Homework: We have a quiz tomorrow - study up. Anything up to Friday (March 24th) lesson could be on quiz.
Lesson #4 - Finding Images in a Plane Mirror. Today a drawing lesson on how we find an image in a flat (plane) mirror. Homework: Read 11.7. Do # 1,2,3,5a, 7, 9 on page #493
Today we learned how to draw proper 'ray drawings'. You had a chance to try drawing 'ray diagrams' and you marked your first attempt. Homework: Read 11.6. Copy down the definition of diffuse and specular reflection. Also copy down Fig. 2 and Fig 5. Know examples of diffuse and specular reflection.
Today was a reading/theory day. You had 50 minutes to work on the following:
1) AFter my brief LASER note, you were to read p. 478 and answer # 1-4 on next page. 2) Read 'Cleaning with Light' - one page' and answer the questions (see below) 3) Read 11.4 - copy Fig. 5 and answer # 1-5 **Remember answers are posted online - see Optics webpage ** a) What does 'manual scraping' mean? b) How exactly does a laser clean? c) What are the advantages of using lasers to clean? d) Based on the last sentence, were lasers developed for scientific or technological reasons? WE did a note on properties of light (available as a powerpoint if you were absent - you can copy down the note from the powerpoint). Homework: Read 11.2 and copy down the 8 sources of light and their definitions. Do # 1 - 10 p. 476
We tried a padlet. Click here https://padlet.com/christinehudecki5/tnututdtp42b
We also took a short note on light today. It is downloadable on Optics page. It is called: What is Light? Homework: Read 1.1 . Copy Fig 5 and copy Table 1 (but just give ONE example of how its used). Do # 1-9 |
