Presentation dates are WED and THURSDAY of next week. remember to look at project outline and rubric so that you complete all that is required. Highlights: everyone has a bit to present orally, everyone has a written component to hand in, everyone has to prepare a question to ask, everyone needs to prepare a bibliography properly of the sources use.

Tomorrow is a work period for your health care project. There is an outline and rubric on the 'Biology' page of this website. You were given one, but if you misplace, you can get another!
You were assigned a group of 4 and have a health issue to research. Although you will present all together (about a 5 - 7 min. presentation max), you are all marked individually. Remember, everyone has something to hand in as well as something to present orally. Homework: continue with your research if necessary. Friday is a work period too. You can be planning - doesn't have to be on the computer.
Note on cell cycle. We did a plasticene activity to demonstrate mitosis and you completed a handout. If you were absent, see me for the handout and copy from a friend. Homework: Read 2.7: Cell Cycle Gone wrong (cancer). Note the bold words, note the ABCD's of moles, Note methods of diagrnosing cancer and note methods of treating cancer. These should be point form notes.
We took up Friday's homework. Latter half of the class was looking at your OSSLT mock tests. Important information for you! We do need to keep going with Biology so your homework is: Read 2.5 Cell cycle and complete p. 44 # 1-7

We had 2 more optics presentations today and we took up the homework from Monday. We finished with talking about how to SAFELY handle a microscope and you were to label the parts of a microscope. No homework!
Today and tomorrow is OSSLT prep so you are ready for your grade 10 literacy test. Remember - you need to pass this in order to graduate. Homework: Please have yesterday's homework finished for Thursday when we can do Biology again. Take this time to download notes from the Biology page!
Welcome back ! Today we talked about the hierarchy of organization of your human body. We then looked at the smallest unit - the cell. Homework: Copy down the cell theory from text (2.1), note the cell organelles and their jobs. finally Comlete # 2-8 from page 32. Seems like a lot but you were given class time to start and colleagues around you to help!
