LESSON #4 - Today we copied down Fig. 1 from page 29 (procaryotes vs. eukaryotes). It was a work/activity period after that. You read 2.3 and copied down the bold definitions. You also sketched and labelled Fig. 4 and Fig. 5. You then did a 'sugar cube' activity that helped to explain why cells are so small. Homework: Do # 1-6 at thend end of chapter 2.3

Today you got your Physics Unit test back. If you could show my your parent signature on the Chemistry Unit test then I gave you your Physics unit mark. I will be available at lunch hours for the next few days for this as well.
We learned how to draw proper microscope drawings today No homework :) Today we learned how to properly use the microscope.
Period 2 - had a presentation in gym
Period 4 - Had a lesson on the effects of marijuana on the brain. This lesson is part of the biology unit! Keep it in your notes. Lesson #1 Biology - Today you had time to answer # 1-8 at the end of 2.1 (which you read yesterday). This is introductory cell theory much of which you have covered in grade 8. Tomorrow you are presenting your slide shows.
Today was our unit test (2/3 of it anyway). In your spare time you were to start your homework for the *new* biology unit. Tomorrow you have one more page of test.
Homework: Read 2.1 (should be review of grade 7/8). Copy down the cell theory (3 parts). Copy definitions for prokaryote and eukarote. Read about and record the 10 cell structures - summarize their 'job'. Today a study period - unit test is Monday.
Today a work period. You had a hand out. Read 13.6 to answer the questions. Extras in the binder @ back of room. Parts of this will be on the unit test.
LESSON 15: Read 13.4. If you were here in class and got the handout, please complete Part A and # 1,2,4,7 of Part B. Answers are posted on line under 'Chapter 13'. The answers are called 'lens math answers'. If you were absent, please try # 1,3,5 on page 566 and check the answers @ the back of the textbook
