Period 1 - You did a small open book assessment re: your Reaction Lab.
Period 3 - We didn't really see each other for science today. Remember --> 2. Reaction Lab is due written up in Google doc by the end of Friday. Today we walked to ST. Joseph for a school mass.
LESSON #15
Today you ran the reaction lab. You got a handout. Essentially you write up your lab as best you can in formal lab report style. Note: There is no hypothesis, analysis questions (yet) or conclusion. Due: Friday Sept. 28 at midnight (so I can mark it Saturday morning). This is to be put into your science folder and titled: 2. Reaction Lab We did lots of little things today
- had the chance to ask about Thursday and Friday homework - WHMIS symbols - WBQ --> did and marked - Went over the lab Homework - be ready for tomorrow's lab. That means having your observation chart ready and you know what you are doing. It's a busy lab! There was a handout - extras in binder. LESSON #13 - Today we took up the lab questions (from Mass Lab). You also had time to have your lab assessed by classmates. Your next lab, I will mark.
Read / Scan --> 6.5, 6.6 (Synthes & Decomposition Reactions, Single & Double Displacement Reactions). Homework: Do the 2 handouts given in class (Answers on back). ALSO --> Read the lab and prepare an observation table. We are doing the lab Tuesday. Here is a lab checklist if you missed peer feedback Friday --> click here Absent? Read / Scan --> Chapter 6.3, 6.4 Homework: p. 232 # 2,6 (conservation) p. 236 # 4, 8, 7 a-f (balancing) Also - your full lab (Mass lab) write up is due in your science folder by midnight tonight. Make sure you do questions g), h), j) Today you did lab 6.2 You will get feedback on this lab. The next lab is for marks.
Homework: Write up in proper lab form in your googledoc. Answer analysis questions g), h) and j) Due: Thursday @ midnight Today you had 20-25 minutes to start your lab report in your science folder. We also had a lesson on counting atoms (with a hand out).
Homework: Read 6.2 and be thoroughly familiar with the procedure. You will do the lab tomorrow. Want some volunteer hours? How about planting some trees this weekend and doing something good for the environment? Guelph Lake needs some tree planters. Click on the link for more details.
