All marked work was handed back and any Optics presentations that have not gone were done today. the balance of the period was work time for you to get going on your concept map (culminating).
Today you learned about creating a concept map for the chemistry, biology and physics units. this is your culminating task. There is a handout on the 'Exam and Culminating' page of the SNC2D website or there are extras in the bin @ back of room. Culminating project is due Friday Jan. 17th - NO EXTENSIONS!! Today and tomorrow are work period
Tomorrow you will have some help starting your culminating project. It would be helpful if you brought coloured pencils/markers to class.
After presentations, we watched a Perimeter Institute video on the dual nature of light (it acts light a particle AND a wave, but not both at the same time). Homework: Complete the hand-out which compares the camera to the eye. More presentations today. Your lesson part: Using 13.6 in your text, draw a diagram explaining: hyperopia and myopia. Know what kind of lens helps people with these focussing problems and know why the lens helps. Also, know what presbyopia is and what helps people with presbyopia. p. 577 # 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 Homework: Finish any of the above mentioned seatwork not finished in class.
