A lesson on thin lens equations. This are not easy - you must constantly refer to the sign convention chart on page 566 (and this will be provided to you on the unit test). I gave a hand out to work on. The answers are on the Optics page - under chapter 13 entitled "lens math answers". Remember --> Unit test on Wednesday.
LESSON 18 - Eye vs camera. You were given 2 handouts today. One is downloadable "Human Eye" and it guides you through what to record as far as notes from the textbook. The other is about your 'Blind Spot' and extras are in the binder at the back of the room. Homework: REad 13.5 and 13. 6 and do # 1,3,5,8 p. 570 and # 1,2,3,5 p. 577
**More information given about culminating project - rubric and assignment description was handed out. Extras in binder at bzack of room, or look under the 'EXAM info' tab at the top of the page and you will find this sheet with the exam information for this clas. Students that were here today started on their culminating project (concept maps).
Today some experimenting with concave and convex lenses. (diverging and converging). Homework: REad 13.1 and 13.3 and do # 2,3,4,5,6 p. #553
LESSON # 13 - We finished lesson #13 today with a note on the phenomenon related to refraction (rainbows, mirages on hot roads and apparent depth). Homework: We are done chapter 12 - you could update your title page.
LESSON 13: Today you experimentally determined the critical angle for water and/or acrylic and as a class we did fairly well. We also had a WBQ - if you did not do well make sure you are doing your homework, reading your text and seeing me @ lunch for extra help. We did a note on the phenomena associated with T.I.R. These are great application examples. Homework: Read 12.5 and 12.7

Homework: Read 12.5 and complete # 1,2,4,5,6,7 LESSON #11 - Lesson and note on refraction math. If you were away, you can download the note entitled: 'refraction' from the Optics page. Homework: REad 12.4 and do # 1-10 @ end of chapter. In class you also wrote a brief note about animals and their unusual eyesight. If you were away, please see me about his note which was generated from a magazine I loaned to students during class.
Today you had time to work on your lab. The lab is due in your Googledoc folder by Friday Dec. 9
